How this site is made, and how its numbers are handled.
A colophon is the note at the back of a book that says how it was set. This is that note for leed.dk, on how the site is built and how its numbers are handled. Where a number appears, the aim is to name its source and show its range when a published range exists.
How this site is made
Every page is plain HTML and CSS with vanilla JavaScript on top. There is no framework and no build step. The data files behind the charts and maps are generated by small Python scripts and shipped as plain files. A few small PHP files handle the two forms, and the rest of the site is static files.
Each chart is drawn from scratch in canvas or SVG. No charting library sits between the data and the pixels, so every visual choice in a figure is one I made. The simulations in the Lab run in your browser, and the site leans on two third-party libraries, KaTeX to typeset the mathematics on the Lab page and Font Awesome for its icons.
The type is Playfair Display for headings and Inter for body text. Both are served from this domain. The one exception is the Lab, where the KaTeX maths library and its fonts load from a CDN.
The small gold and teal mark that divides these sections is the site's identity. It is an interval, a bar from the 10th to the 90th percentile with a tick at the median, because that is the shape I think an estimate should have. The favicon in your browser tab is the same mark redrawn in white and gold on navy.
The site runs Google Analytics, and only if you accept the consent banner. If you decline, the script never loads and nothing is sent. Details are in the privacy policy.
Measurement notes
The reference classes behind the Lab's tools come from the percentile tables published in Hubbard, Budzier & Leed (2025), How to Measure Anything in Project Management, Wiley. The tools start from those published tables, and any further assumption is stated on the tool itself.
The map shows banded ranks of ecological quality across Denmark and nothing more. It never shows prices, and no page on this site puts a money figure on any single parish or home.
Headline numbers from research still in review are stated as rounded bands rather than point estimates, and associations are described as associations. Point estimates can wait for peer review.
